A case of cheating, criminal conspiracy and threat of Rs 86 lakh has come to light against former soldier Balwant Singh of Mahendragarh (Haryana), his wife Santra Devi, brother-in-law Raja Ram and daughter Usha Sahrawat. The complaint has been lodged by Abhishek Takshak, a resident of Sector-22A Chandigarh. He told that his brother Abhinav Takshak lives in Mahendragarh and is married to Balwant Singh’s daughter Usha Sahrawat. In the year 2018, Balwant Singh contacted his father Balwant Takshak and said that Indian Oil Corporation has sought applications for petrol pump in the ex-servicemen quota. He is eligible, but he does not have money to invest.
Fraud of investing one crore in 3 years
Balwant Singh and his wife Santra Devi urged him to invest one crore rupees in three years, calling the petrol pump a profitable deal. Initially his father refused, but trusting due to family relations, he gave a total of 86 lakh rupees to Balwant Singh in different installments.
Balwant’s brother-in-law Raja Ram gave a guarantee and leased out land worth Rs 23 lakh. First, the land in Sirohibhali village was leased for 30 years at the rate of Rs 9,000 per month. Later, when that land was acquired, another land was leased at the rate of Rs 18,000 per month.
According to the complaint, the petrol pump started in the name of ‘Sainik Filling Station’, but no document of any kind of partnership was given. Balwant Singh talked about giving 49 percent share, but put a condition that the bank loan of Rs 25 lakh would have to be repaid first.
For this, Balwant Takshak gave Rs 10 lakh in cash and the remaining Rs 15.60 lakh was withdrawn by Balwant Singh himself from the accounts of the petrol pump. When more money was demanded and the father asked for the account, Balwant Singh got angry and his behavior changed.
