Patients and their relatives are very unhappy with the behavior of doctors in government hospitals of Haryana. Doctors have a lot of workload and most of the time they have to go to court on government duty. There is a huge shortage of doctors in the government hospitals of the state, but the doctors who are working, their behavior towards patients is not good.
Continuous complaints are coming against doctors on the helpline of the Health Department of Haryana. Health Minister Arti Singh Rao has ordered the officials to resolve these complaints in a timely manner. Along with this, she appealed to the doctors to understand the pain of the patients and their relatives and cooperate.
Continuous complaints are coming against doctors on helpline number 104 started by the Haryana government through the National Health Mission. Some allege that the doctor did not tell them about their illness properly, while some said that the doctor did not answer the question related to the illness. Many people are worried about the doctors not coming to the hospital on time.
So far 409 complaints have been received through this helpline. Of these, 337 have been claimed to have been settled, while investigations are underway on 72 serious complaints. Most of the complaints received so far are related to the doctors’ misbehavior, lack of improvement in the cleanliness system of hospitals, staff not working properly and neglect of patients.
Most complaints against doctors have been received from Rohtak, Nuh, Karnal and Gurugram districts of Haryana. A complaint from Sonipat district has been sent to the directorate for action by the NHM team.
Call center is in Panchkula. Dr. Gadvindra Singh, nodal officer of the helpline, says that a call center has also been set up in Panchkula, where the incoming complaints are being resolved. Health Minister Arti Singh Rao has directed the nodal officers of the concerned districts to investigate the complaints.
The minister said that the results of this initiative of NHM have started coming. The department has taken the complaints received on the helpline seriously, most of these complaints have been redressed. Soon the remaining complaints will be resolved in time.
