The Education Department has banned teachers in government schools from engaging in non-academic work. District Education Officer (Middle), Rajesh Sharma, has issued orders to all school heads in the district, directing them to immediately submit data on teachers performing non-academic duties to the office. He clarified that with the cooperation of the district administration, these non-academic teachers will be returned to their schools soon.
According to information, Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains has learned that in some districts, the administration is deploying teachers for work other than education. Their absence from classes cannot be justified in any way. The Minister clarified that in this regard, he has written to the Chief Secretary of Punjab, asking him to ensure that no teacher is assigned non-academic work. If absolutely necessary, written permission should be obtained from the Education Department.
Meanwhile, District Education Officer Rajesh Sharma stated that teachers have been prohibited from performing non-academic tasks. All school heads in the district have been ordered to immediately submit the data of teachers performing non-academic tasks in their schools to the District Education Office, so that, with the assistance of the administration, these teachers can be sent back to their schools.
