Continuous rain in Punjab has cooled the weather. Several districts have been overcast since morning, and intermittent rain continues.
The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy rain and strong winds for the next three hours. According to the department, thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rain are likely at some locations in Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Moga, and SBS Nagar (Nawanshahr) districts. The department has advised people to avoid standing in open spaces or under trees during this inclement weather and to stay indoors. In case of any emergency, contact 112 immediately.
It should be noted that after the activation of the Western Disturbance, heavy rain has been occurring in the state, causing a drop in temperatures. Earlier, the department had issued a yellow alert for rain in 12 districts of the state, and strong winds with a speed of 40 km are also expected.
On the other hand, due to the changing weather, farmers are worried about their crops. According to the Meteorological Department, the sky may remain cloudy in the next 48 hours and there may be light to moderate rain in the area. Seeing the rain and the worsening weather, lines of worry have started appearing on the faces of the farmers, because the paddy and cotton crops are ripe and ready to be harvested. If the rain continues like this, the crops may get damaged.
