Continuous rain in Punjab has cooled the weather. Several districts have been experiencing intermittent rain since this morning. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has once again issued a warning for heavy rain and strong winds for the next three hours. Lightning has also been predicted in several areas.
According to the department, lightning and heavy rain are expected in some areas of Faridkot, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Moga, and Tarn Taran. People are advised not to stand in open spaces or under trees during this time and to stay indoors. In case of any emergency, they are urged to immediately contact 112.
Due to the impact of the Western Disturbance, continuous heavy rain is occurring in Punjab, causing temperatures to drop. A yellow alert has already been issued for 12 districts, with warnings of winds of up to 40 kilometers per hour. The rain has also increased the concerns of farmers, as paddy and cotton crops are ready for harvest. The continuous rain is expected to damage the crops. The Meteorological Department predicts cloudy skies for the next two days, with light to moderate rain possible in many areas.
