Hardeep Singh Mundian stated that the Easy Registry facility has ushered in a new era of transparency and efficiency in property registration. The project is proving to be extremely helpful in reducing hassles and curbing corruption by ensuring online verification of unsigned sealed deeds by the Sub-Registrar within 48 hours. He stated that, to ensure accountability in the process, all objections raised are being monitored by Deputy Commissioners and Sub-District Magistrates, and strict action has been taken against officials who raise unnecessary objections.
The Cabinet Minister stated that the system implements a “first-come, first-served” principle for property registration, eliminating any possibility of favoritism. The Cabinet Minister categorically stated that citizens have the freedom to register property documents at any Sub-Registrar office in their district, effectively eliminating the monopoly of individual offices. The Revenue Minister stated that applicants now receive automated WhatsApp updates at every stage of the process, including document verification, payments, and appointments.
He added that services can also be availed at home by opting for doorstep delivery through the helpline number 1076. He further informed that all payments, including stamp duty and registration fees, can be made online simultaneously through 25 available banks, whereas earlier these services could only be availed from 5 banks. The Cabinet Minister informed that an integrated token management system has also been implemented, under which priority is given to citizens who have made appointments and have complete documents. The Cabinet Minister said that with this system, people will not face any delay in their payments. He said that with advanced servers, trained staff, and standardized procedures, this system has been implemented uniformly across Punjab, ensuring transparent and efficient services in cities and villages.
