To expedite the construction of a bridge at railway crossing number S-70 between Jalandhar Cantt and Chehru stations on the Sahnewal-Amritsar section of the Ferozepur Railway Division, the railway department is going to block this section from October 12th to 14th. DRM Sanjeev Kumar stated that a total of 13 trains will be affected during this block.
Affected Trains
On October 12th, the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus-Amritsar Express will arrive in Amritsar 90 minutes late. On October 13th, the Purnea Court-Amritsar Express will arrive in Amritsar 60 minutes late, the Jaynagar-Amritsar Express will arrive in Amritsar 60 minutes late, the Katra-Ambedkar Nagar Express will depart 70 minutes late, the Amritsar-Kanpur Central Express will depart 60 minutes late, the Amritsar-Jaynagar Express will depart 70 minutes late, the Amritsar-Nangal Dam Express will depart 40 minutes late, and the Katra-Bandra Terminus will depart 40 minutes late.
On October 14th, the New Delhi-Amritsar Express will be short-terminated at Phagwara and returned to New Delhi from there. Instead of diverting the New Delhi-Lohian Khas Express from Ludhiana to Jalandhar City, it will be diverted via Phillaur-Nakodar. Similarly, the Amritsar-Ajmer Express will depart from Jalandhar City via Kapurthala, Lohian Khas, instead of diverting it from Jalandhar City to Firozpur via Ludhiana.
