Following the death of renowned Punjabi singer Rajveer Jawanda, a shocking incident occurred during his funeral in his native village of Pona. According to reports, over 150 mobile phones belonging to several artists and attendees were stolen. Singer Gagan Kokri shared this incident through a social media video.
Gagan Kokri explained that numerous music artists had come to bid farewell to Rajveer Jawanda. Taking advantage of the crowd, some unidentified individuals stole the phones. Kokri said that his own phone, two mobile phones belonging to Jasvir Jassi and Pinky Dhaliwal, along with the phones of several other singers, musicians, and directors were stolen.
Expressing his displeasure over the incident, he said that such an act during a time of mourning is extremely shameful. He believes this does not appear to be the work of a single individual; a gang of around 20-25 people may have been involved. Gagan Kokri has appealed to the public to share any information they have about this theft.
It is reported that many people had difficulty returning home due to the theft of their phones, as they were left without any means of navigation or communication. It is worth noting that Rajveer Jawanda also spent his childhood in this village and began his musical career there.
