The Tarn Taran police, CIA staff, busted an international arms smuggling racket, arresting two smugglers with two Chinese-made pistols, a motorcycle, and four live rounds. After obtaining the remand of the arrested suspects, the police registered a case at Khalra police station and began further investigation, which could lead to more significant revelations in the coming days.
District SSP Surinder Lamba stated that Inspector Prabhjeet Singh of the Tarn Taran CIA staff had set up a blockade in Daliri village, acting on a tip-off. Two men riding a motorcycle without a license plate were signaled to stop. During a search, two Chinese-made .30-bore pistols and four live rounds were recovered from them. They have been identified as Sher Singh alias Gauri, son of Jassa Singh, resident of village Dal, and Sukhbir Singh alias Sukha, son of Joginder Singh, resident of village Kaleke.
The SSP stated that the two arrested smugglers are linked to smugglers based in Pakistan, who used mobile phones and drones to deliver weapons through drones. They also have links with gangsters, which will be revealed soon. The SSP stated that there are also indications of the involvement of some other people in this arms smuggling network, which the police are investigating and will soon reveal to the media.
