Acting on a complaint filed by Kulbir Singh, the police at the Anaj Mandi Police Station in Patiala have registered a case against Ranjit Singh, Vikram Singh, Amarjit Singh, Jaggi Singh (the former president), his brother-in-law Peter, and two to three unidentified individuals.
According to the complainant, Kulbir Singh, a meeting regarding the Gurdwara Sahib’s presidency was convened on April 19. During the meeting, he got into an argument with the incumbent president, Amarjit Singh. During this altercation, Vikram Singh attacked both him and his son, Manpreet Singh, with a knife. Manpreet Singh was stabbed multiple times, sustaining critical injuries, and is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. Kulbir Singh has expressed apprehension that his life and that of his family are under threat from the attackers, who continue to intimidate them. He has demanded that the accused be arrested immediately on a priority basis. Furthermore, he has urged the police to register a case of attempted murder against the accused, arguing that the attack on his son, Manpreet Singh, was carried out with the specific intent to kill. He added that the entire family remains in a state of shock following this incident.
