Meanwhile, long-distance trains such as the Amrapali Express and Malwa Express further compounded passenger woes by arriving at the station with delays of around five hours each.
As trains failed to arrive at their scheduled times, platforms remained crowded with passengers who were forced to wait for hours on end. Additionally, the Vande Bharat Express—serving the New Delhi and Vaishno Devi routes—also arrived considerably later than its scheduled time. The persistent delays across various trains disrupted passengers’ onward travel plans, subjecting them to considerable inconvenience.
In this sequence of delays, Train No. 12497, the Shan-e-Punjab Express arriving from New Delhi, reached the City Station around 2:20 PM—running one and a half hours behind its scheduled arrival time of 12:50 PM. Conversely, Train No. 12498, the Shan-e-Punjab Express bound for Delhi from Amritsar, arrived at the City Station at 5:45 PM—also running one and a half hours late against its scheduled departure time of 4:15 PM. Train No. 22487, the Vande Bharat Express traveling from New Delhi to Amritsar, arrived at the Cantt Station at 8:55 PM—running half an hour behind schedule. Similarly, trains like the Shatabdi Express experienced delays ranging from 15 to 20 minutes.
Train No. 15707, the Amrapali Express bound for Amritsar, arrived at the City Station at 3:45 PM—running five hours behind its scheduled time. Train No. 12919, the Malwa Express bound for Vaishno Devi, arrived at the Cantt Station shortly after 3:30 PM—running five hours behind its scheduled arrival time of 10:30 AM. Likewise, Train No. 22339, the Vande Bharat Express bound for Vaishno Devi, arrived at the Cantt Station at 11:30 AM—running one and a half hours behind schedule.
