Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced that the Qadian constituency would be upgraded to a sub-division. This move fulfills a long-pending demand of the people and ensures that all major government services will be available under one roof through a modern administrative complex.
During a special public outreach program in Qadian, he launched a scathing attack on the Akali leadership, stating that they had intimidated people to garner votes and looted Punjab for years.
Calling upon Punjabis to unite against “thieves, looters, and swindlers,” Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann urged the people to wield the ‘Broom’ (AAP’s election symbol) so decisively in the 2027 elections that opposition parties would never again get a chance to sully the state. The Chief Minister also assured farmers that the outstanding sugarcane dues of the Kidi Sugar Mill would be cleared soon. Highlighting his government’s pro-people initiatives—such as zero electricity bills for 90 percent of households and cashless health insurance worth ₹10 lakh for 47 lakh families—he appealed to the public to unite in building a ‘Rangla Punjab’ (Vibrant Punjab). Sharing glimpses of the event on ‘X’, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann wrote: “Heartfelt thanks for the immense love and affection shown by the brave people of the Majha region and the Qadian constituency. Fulfilling a long-pending demand, I have announced that Qadian will now be made a sub-division.
The offices of the SDM, DSP, and ADC will operate from a single modern building, eliminating the harassment people face while accessing government services. To further accelerate the constituency’s development, Guraiqbal Singh Mahal has been appointed as the new ‘Sevadar’ (representative/caretaker) of the constituency.” “The era of exploitation by traditional political leaders is now over. Today, 90 percent of households in Punjab are receiving zero-amount electricity bills, and 4.7 million families have already received cards for cashless medical treatment worth ₹10 lakh. Come, let us all join hands to build a prosperous Punjab.”
Addressing a massive gathering, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “This huge crowd demonstrates that the people of Qadian are eagerly waiting to bring about change and liberate this constituency from the family that has ruled here for decades.
Previous governments ignored the development of Punjab’s border regions, but our government has made every possible effort to ensure their progress. The people living along the border are true patriots who have always stood like a rock with the nation, and our government is fully committed to their welfare.”
The Chief Minister stated, “The smugglers who have long represented this assembly constituency have ruined generations of Punjabis. The people must teach them a befitting lesson in the upcoming assembly elections.”
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann remarked, “We grew up eating biscuits made in local bakeries, whereas these leaders—educated in convent schools in the hills—have been consuming ‘gold biscuits’ smuggled by their fathers and grandfathers. They possess neither an ideology nor any commitment to public service; their sole objective has always been to cling to power. The time has come for the people to understand the difference between bakery biscuits and gold biscuits.”
He added, “These ‘royal’ leaders have nothing in common with ordinary Punjabis. Their vehicles, clothing, and lifestyles are vastly different from ours. Those who represented this region in the Legislative Assembly, Rajya Sabha, and Lok Sabha never worked for its development. Instead, they imposed tolls on roads and burdened the public. Even their own family is divided, with flags of different political parties flying over their homes.” Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “My name has become a nightmare for leaders of traditional parties because I have exposed their misdeeds to the public. They cannot digest the fact that the son of a common man is successfully running Punjab. The people have already rejected these leaders because they have always prioritized their own families over Punjab and the people of Punjab.”
Announcing that Qadian would soon be made a sub-division, the Chief Minister said, “All formalities will be completed quickly so that people do not have to wait long to get their work done.” He remarked that the Shiromani Akali Dal is a sinking ship, and even its sensible leaders are leaving the party in the public interest.
“For years, people voted for the Akalis believing they represented the sacred ‘Takri’ (scales) of the great Gurus, but instead, they looted the public and held stakes in illegal businesses.”
The Chief Minister stated, “The Akali Dal, Congress, and BJP know they cannot compete with me politically. That is why they have united to defame me over religious issues using fake videos. The Akali leadership ruthlessly looted Punjab and committed numerous unforgivable atrocities against the common people. They patronized the mafia that devastated the state and abetted the drug trade, ruining several generations of Punjabis during their long tenure.”
