An incident that has shamed humanity has come to light in Jalwaha village, near Rahon, where a mother discarded the fetus of a newborn baby boy into a drain after giving birth. The incident came to light when a villager, Gurpreet Singh, poured a bucket of water into the drain in the morning and the fetus floated to the surface. He immediately alerted the villagers, and the entire village gathered at the spot.
Upon receiving the information, a police team led by ASI Mohan Lal arrived at the scene under the instructions of Inspector Sukhpal Singh of the Rahon police station. In the presence of the village chairman, Satnam Singh, the police took possession of the fetus and sent it to a hospital in Mohali for a post-mortem examination and further investigation. Based on Gurpreet Singh’s statement, the police have registered a case against the unidentified mother under various sections and have initiated further action.
