A dispute broke out between two groups in Boot village, Kapurthala, following which injured members from both sides arrived at the Civil Hospital for treatment. However, while doctors were attending to them, the two groups clashed again right inside the emergency ward, turning it into a battlefield.
Observing the situation spiraling out of control, hospital doctors immediately alerted the police. DSP Dr. Sheetal Singh arrived with a large police force and brought the situation under control. Eight people from both sides sustained injuries in the altercation. Once calm was restored, the doctors referred the injured individuals to other hospitals.
**Eight to ten people injured**
The duty doctor at the Civil Hospital stated that late in the evening, eight to ten injured individuals from both groups arrived from Boot village, and treatment was initiated in the emergency ward. A large number of people associated with both groups had also gathered at the hospital. Suddenly, members of the two groups clashed within the emergency ward. The altercation turned violent, and the situation became unmanageable. The police were immediately informed and brought the situation under control. The doctor added that the injured from both sides have been referred to other hospitals.
**Police investigating the matter**
DSP Dr. Sheetal Singh stated that a dispute had occurred between two groups in Boot village (under the jurisdiction of Subhanpur police station) over an issue. The individuals continued their altercation even after arriving at the hospital. They were stopped from fighting, and the situation is now normal. The Subhanpur police are investigating the matter.
