On Tibba Road, a speeding, out-of-control auto-rickshaw violently collided with a young man riding a motorcycle. The impact was so severe that the youth fell onto the road and sustained critical injuries. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Acting on a complaint filed by the deceased’s brother, Vikas Sharma, the Tibba police have registered a case against the unidentified auto-rickshaw driver and initiated legal proceedings.
In his statement to the police, the deceased’s brother, Vikas Sharma, recounted that around 11:40 PM on September 2, his brother Siddharth had left home on his motorcycle to buy *parathas* from a local shop. As Siddharth reached near the Radha Soami Satsang Ghar on Tibba Road, a speeding CNG auto-rickshaw—driven recklessly and at high speed—collided head-on with his bike. The impact was so forceful that Siddharth was thrown a considerable distance along with his bike, sustaining severe injuries to his head and other parts of his body. Covered in blood, he was immediately rushed to CMC Hospital with the help of passersby and family members. Doctors at the hospital described his condition as critical and began treatment in the emergency ward; however, due to severe internal injuries and excessive blood loss, he passed away during treatment.
The news of the youth’s death plunged the family into deep grief. Upon receiving information about the incident, the Tibba police arrived at the scene and registered a case of negligent driving against the auto-rickshaw driver based on the complainant’s statement. The police have impounded the vehicles involved in the accident, initiated the process for a post-mortem examination of the deceased, and are actively searching for the accused driver.
