High-speed bus and car collide violently; airbags save lives of two young men

Date:

Two young men were injured in a severe collision between a speeding bus and a car on the Moga-Jalandhar road this afternoon; however, the deployment of the car’s airbags saved their lives. They had to be admitted to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Upon receiving information about the accident, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Baljit Singh from the Moga City Police Station arrived at the scene with a police team to conduct an investigation and question local residents. He stated that Harmanjot Singh and Satnam Singh, residents of Daroli Bhai, were driving to a fuel station on Amritsar Road in Moga to get CNG filled in their car when the collision with the speeding bus occurred. Both vehicles sustained significant damage—the car was completely wrecked, and the front of the bus was also damaged; the police have impounded both vehicles. Investigating Officer ASI Baljit Singh stated that further action would be taken based on the statements of the injured men.
