Ahead of Punjab Congress in-charge Sachin Pilot’s arrival in Chandigarh, State Congress President Amrinder Singh Raja Warring stated that the party’s protest on Tuesday is aimed at securing justice for Gulzar Singh, who committed suicide due to distress over the Punjab government’s policies.
In this protest, senior Punjab Congress leaders will unite to demand the resignation of Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema and the registration of an FIR against him. Speaking to *Dainik Jagran*, Warring mentioned that there is currently no information regarding how Sachin Pilot will reach Chandigarh. It remains unclear whether he will travel by road, car, or air. Warring added that once details regarding the location and time of Pilot’s arrival are received, Punjab Congress leaders will be there to welcome him in accordance with party protocol. He noted that the protest, led by Sachin Pilot, would also demonstrate the Congress party’s unity against the Punjab government.
He emphasized that the aggrieved family in the Gulzar Singh case deserves justice and that the Congress would pressure the government to meet this demand. Addressing questions about factionalism within the party, Warring asserted that all Congress leaders are united.
Minor differences occur in any political party, but the best interest of the Congress lies in all leaders coming together to fight for the people of Punjab.
Instructions Issued to All Party Workers
He appealed to leaders to set aside personal interests and work towards strengthening the party. Warring stated that to secure a victory for the Congress in the upcoming assembly elections, all leaders and workers must unite and enter the fray with full strength.
