A cement trader residing on Pathanpura-Jalalpur Road in Rath town took his own life early Tuesday morning by jumping into Devariya Pond. CCTV footage from a camera near the 18-foot-deep pond captured the young man jumping in. After discovering a suicide note in the bathroom, family members rushed to the pond and began a search. After about five hours of strenuous effort, the young man’s body was recovered from the pond.
Bhupendra Kumar (30), son of Kamta Rajput and a resident of Pathanpura-Jalalpur Road, was a cement trader. Around 4:00 AM on Tuesday, he jumped into Devariya Pond, located on Jalalpur Road.

When his wife, Nidhi, went to the bathroom in the morning, she found a suicide note. It stated that he would be found in the pond, asked for forgiveness, and requested that the family not worry. CCTV footage from a camera near the pond showed Bhupendra jumping into the water. Subsequently, family members and the police launched a search operation. After about five hours of intense effort, the young man was retrieved from the pond, deceased. The deceased’s brother, Deependra Kumar, stated that Bhupendra ran a cement business. He is survived by his five-month-old daughter. His wife, Nidhi, and mother, Rajkumari, are inconsolable following his death.
