A highly cunning case involving criminal breach of trust and the theft of government or commercial property worth lakhs of rupees has come to light. In this incident, two contractors, acting in collusion as part of a premeditated conspiracy, made off with drums of valuable electrical cables worth lakhs. The cunning thieves executed the entire crime using vehicles and fled the scene, taking the stolen goods with them. Acting swiftly on the victim’s complaint, the police at Ladowal Police Station have registered a case against the named accused and have launched a manhunt to apprehend them.
According to the information received, Amritpal Singh filed the complaint. The subsequent police investigation revealed that the accused—Ashu and Saivit Singh—had conspired together to devise a comprehensive plan to defraud the complainant. The accused first procured various sizes of valuable cable drums and related materials from the complainant, including: one drum of 150 SQ MM HT cable, one drum of 240 SQ MM cable, one drum of 95 SQ MM LT cable, one drum of LT 150 SQ MM cable, two drums of 80 MM conductor cable, and two drums of 50 MM conductor cable.
The accused arranged for this heavy and valuable consignment to be loaded onto a vehicle. Subsequently, they transported the goods—facilitated by a driver named Sukhdev Singh—to Fatehgarh Gujran village in Ludhiana. There, the entire consignment was transferred into a closed-body Canter truck bearing a Delhi registration number, which was parked directly in front of a weighbridge (Dharmkanda). Following this transfer, the two cunning contractors stole the closed-body Canter truck—now laden with the cable drums—and fled the scene.
Thanks to the complainant’s vigilance and the preliminary police investigation, a case has been registered against the aforementioned accused contractors and their accomplices under serious penal sections. Police officials state that police teams are conducting raids at potential hideouts to apprehend the accused and recover the stolen valuable cables. The accused are also being tracked based on vehicle registration numbers and will soon be in police custody.
