There is no place for contempt, insult and violence in Sanatan Dharma. At its core is charity, belongingness and non-violence. By internalizing the essence of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, Sanatanis consider the world as their family. We get this lesson from Manusmriti, Shri Ramcharitmanas, Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta. At its core is to accept the neglected. Those who question our religious scriptures are ignorant.
They are getting punished and will get punished in future too. This is the statement of Tulsi Peethadheeshwar Padma Vibhushan Jagadguru Swami Rambhadracharya. He condemns the politicians for questioning Manusmriti. He also reiterates the need to take back the captured temples. He predicts Akhand Bharat.
He says that very soon enslaved Kashmir will become an integral part of India. For this, Yagya is being organized in Tirtharaj Prayag. Jagadguru Swami Rambhadracharya spoke openly to Chief Correspondent Sharad Dwivedi on various issues. Here are the main excerpts of the conversation –
Question: What is Sanatan Dharma and its values?
Answer: Sanatan Dharma is vast in nature, it includes the welfare of the universe. Respecting every person, worrying about everyone is the essence of religion.
How are you feeling about chanting and meditation in Maha Kumbh Mela?
Amrit Yoga has been formed in Maha Kumbh. It feels very good here. The government has made good preparations for the saints and devotees. I am self-satisfied with this. My mind is happy by chanting and meditation on the land of Tirtharaj. I will stay for a month and will be engrossed in religious rituals.
What message will you give to the country from Maha Kumbh?
My message is that Hindus should wake up and rise above caste and class. Many sects may have been formed, but in the end we are Hindus. We should remain united in every situation. Our unity is the basis of security and development.
How will Hindus unite, some leaders say that Manusmriti is dividing Hindus?
Those who say this are ignorant people. They are taking the help of religious texts to shine in politics. They should not involve religious texts in politics. Our religious texts teach us to accept, not to despise. Lord Shri Ram had given the message of social harmony by embracing all the neglected people including Kol, Bhil with affection.
If we are his followers, how can we ignore anyone?
Those who ridiculed Manusmriti, Shri Ramcharitmanas are getting punishment. Wait, they will get punishment in future too.
When a temple was found during excavation in Sambhal, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat had suggested to avoid talking about temple-mosque to maintain harmony in the nation, you reacted strongly to that, what is your expectation?
I have no personal expectation and desire. I am a religious leader of Sanatan Dharma. I have given the reaction I had to give in that capacity. Now I do not want to say anything.
Which temples do you want?
All the followers of Sanatan Dharma should get the certified temples. We are neither demanding the demolition of other’s religious places nor do we want to occupy them, but our ancient temples, which have been converted into other religious places, should be given to us. A fight is being fought for it on legal grounds.
What is meant by certified temples?
Those which have a direct connection with our deities are certified temples. Those temples which are centuries old are certified. Like Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Ayodhya, the temples of Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura and Kashi Vishwanath are certified. There are hundreds of such places of worship across the country, which have been demolished and given new structures. These will be obtained by fighting a legal battle.
Some saints are demanding the formation of a Sanatan Board for the protection of monasteries and temples, are you in support of it or against it?
I will not say anything on this subject right now. First let the Dharma Sansad be held, then I will give my statement.
In the Kumbh of the year 2019, you had predicted that the decision on the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple would come soon and in favor of Hindus. That came true. What will you predict now?
India will become united. Enslaved Kashmir will soon become an integral part of India. India’s glory will keep increasing all over the world. This is my prediction.
How will this prediction be fulfilled? Hindus are being killed and driven away in Bangladesh. India’s relations with every neighbouring country are bad. Then how will your prediction of united India be fulfilled?
(With a light smile) All my predictions have been fulfilled so far. Similarly, this too will be fulfilled. You have to be patient. Its time will come soon. What is happening in Bangladesh is wrong. I have raised my voice against it. The situation there will improve soon.
Are you satisfied with the government’s action in the case of Bangladesh?
The government has protested against the atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh, but I expect that strict intervention should be done for it. This will boost the morale of Hindus, because we cannot tolerate atrocities on Hindus.
What do you consider to be the challenge before Sanatan Dharma?
Conversion, mutual discrimination is a big problem. A campaign is being run against it. I am running a nationwide campaign to unite Hindus.
There are millions of religious leaders in India, then why are conversions happening, are religious leaders less active?
I agree with you. Religious leaders are not as active as expected, due to which conversions are happening. Here, awareness against it has increased. Common people have become more aware than before.
Saints are calling cow slaughter and neglect of Sanskrit language a big issue today, do you agree with that?
Yes, there should be a complete ban on cow slaughter. The government should take strict steps for that. As far as Sanskrit language is concerned, it should not be neglected. I have opened Sanskrit Gurukulam in Chitrakoot. I have given a three-language formula for Sanskrit. In this, it is compulsory for every student to study Sanskrit. The government should implement it.
For national unity, there is a demand to implement a common civil code in the country. What is your opinion?
I also want that a common civil code should be implemented in the country. India is a democratic country. The law is equal for everyone, then no one should get extra facilities in the name of caste and religion.
Guru makes the fate
In this world, only the Guru makes the fate. Gurudev’s grace can turn mud into gold. Guru has no selfishness. There should be a feeling of respect towards the Guru. There should be no less dedication towards him. The more dedication there is towards the Guru, the more will be the rise in fortune. Dedication is the basis of our success.
If you have affection towards God, then this is the real form of love. All the affection of the world should be contained in Raghav and Madhav. Love the Lord as much as a householder loves his son. Trust the Lord as much as you trust your friends and family members and fear is also necessary. The fear should be like the fear you have for your husband. You should love children. Seeing children reminds you of God. Worship the child form of God.
Be dedicated to the nation
India used to show the way to the world centuries ago. Its form was distorted during the period of slavery. Our resources were looted. Greed and cruelty were used to destroy the existence of Sanatan Dharma. Due to this, the nation was divided into many pieces. Now the situation has changed. Every Sanatani should be proud of his religion and culture and work with the feeling that the nation is supreme.
Protect the holy rivers yourself
Rivers in India are revered. Despite this, their condition is bad. Ganga and Yamuna are being polluted. The government is trying to clean the rivers, but public participation is needed in it. We have to take a pledge that we will not throw any garbage in the rivers. If someone does, we will stop him. We have to raise our voice unitedly to ensure that sewage water does not flow into Ganga and Yamuna. Only then will the situation improve.
