Registration and Licensing Authority (RLA) in Chandigarh conducted e-auction of VIP numbers of vehicles. In which VIP number ‘CH01-CY-0001’ was sold for 25 lakhs. The reserve price of this number was 50 thousand rupees, but after bidding its price reached lakhs.
Only those people were allowed to participate in this e-auction who had bought the vehicle at Chandigarh address. Earlier, in 2012, number ‘CH01-AP-0001’ was auctioned for 26.05 lakhs, which is the most expensive registration number till date.
Demand for fancy numbers is increasing every year
The auction of fancy numbers in Chandigarh is breaking records every time. Especially the demand for numbers like ‘0001’, ‘0007’ and ‘0009’ is the highest.
