CM’s warning to Punjab Tehsildars who went on strike: Said- Happy leave, but people will decide where to join again

Date:

Tehsildars have gone on mass leave in protest against the action of the Vigilance Bureau in Punjab. They have decided not to work till Friday. At the same time, CM Bhagwant Mann has also come into action mode in this matter. CM Bhagwant Mann has warned the Tehsildars that congratulations to the Tehsildars on mass leave.

Now people will decide where they will join after the leave. At the same time, today CM Bhagwant Mann visited some other tehsils including Kharar and Zirakpur. He also said that those who have gone on strike should understand that they will not be able to blackmail in this way. At the same time, the government has ordered the employees on strike to join duty by five o’clock, otherwise they will be considered suspended.

CM has raised four points in conversation with the media –

1. CM said that today revenue officers, especially Tehsildars, are talking about going on mass leave. They have decided not to do any registry till Friday. We were talking to them for two-three days. They said that two-three of our colleagues have been arrested by the Vigilance Department in corruption cases. First they should be given a clean chit, then we will start work. They are directly saying that we should be allowed to do corruption.

2. The Aam Aadmi Party government is working with a zero tolerance policy against corruption. If they try to stop work by taking mass leave, then we will give the right to register to Naib Tehsildars, Kanungos or other small officials in all tehsils. If needed, this right will also be given to the headmasters and principals of schools. But they should not think that the government can be blackmailed in this way. If they have any legitimate demand, then we are ready to accept it.

3. The CM further said that neither have I ever taken a bribe in my life, nor have I ever been accused of corruption, nor will I let anyone do corruption. If they do not return from their mass leave, then congratulations to them on this leave. We have many new people, we will appoint them. They themselves know how much they have troubled the general public. Now no leniency will be shown to them.

4. If they consider themselves right, then do not withdraw their collective leave. We will bring the agenda of recruitment of new Tehsildars, Kanungos and Patwaris in the next cabinet meeting. Where they will work and where they will join after the leave is over, the public will decide this. The work of the government does not stop without a person. These people have started considering themselves omnipotent and are trying to blackmail the government on small matters, which will not be tolerated.

CM has given this warning in the post

CM Bhagwant Mann wrote on his social media account, Tehsildars are going on strike in favor of their corrupt colleagues, but our government is against bribery. To avoid inconvenience to the common people, other officers of the tehsils are being given the responsibility of the work, so that people’s work does not stop. Best wishes to Tehsildars for their collective leave, but they will decide when and where to join after the leave.

Vigilance officers’ properties will be disclosed

Yesterday, Tehsildars had an emergency meeting in Ludhiana. During this, they alleged that Vigilance is deliberately targeting them. In such a situation, they will go on strike till Friday. They had said that if needed, they will release the details of the properties of Vigilance officers among the public in the coming time. On the other hand, social welfare organizations and common people are calling this action of the government right.
