A new battle has started between the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and the JJP over the election symbol ‘spectacles’. The JJP has accused the INLD of not fulfilling the conditions of the Election Commission’s rules and has indicated to go to court. The INLD has also retaliated by saying that those who talk about rules themselves do not miss any opportunity to enjoy the pleasures of power.
After the demise of INLD chief Om Prakash Chautala, all possibilities of the family members, who are politically divided between INLD and JJP, uniting have ended and a new battle has started.
The leaders of the Jannayak Janata Party have started efforts to snatch away INLD’s political election symbol ‘spectacles’. Accusing the Election Commission of not getting a satisfactory answer in the RTI, the JJP has now indicated to go to court to snatch away INLD’s spectacles.
JJP made these allegations against INLD
According to the leaders of Jannayak Janata Party, as per the performance of the 1998 Lok Sabha elections, Lok Dal got the election symbol spectacles as the state party of Haryana. In the 2019 Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, INLD could not fulfill the conditions of the Election Commission.
After this, according to Rule 6 (C) of the Election Commission, INLD got another opportunity to field its candidate on the same election symbol in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, but in this too, INLD’s performance was against the rules of the Election Commission.
Will have to knock the door of the High Court – JJP
JJP spokesperson Virendra Sindhu raised the question that when INLD could not fulfill the rules of the Election Commission in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, then how was permission given to field a candidate on the same symbol in the 2024 Assembly elections.
Virendra Sindhu said that he had sought a reply from the Election Commission by filing an RTI in this regard, but he has not received any satisfactory answer from the Commission. Now JJP will have to knock the doors of the High Court.
INLD also retaliated
On the other hand, INLD media in-charge Rakesh Sihag said that those who are talking about going to Haj after eating a hundred rats and those who have not missed any opportunity to enjoy power in collaboration with BJP, are now talking about rules.
