Farmer organizations have once again challenged Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who left the meeting with the farmer organizations of the United Kisan Morcha-Political (Sanyukt Kisan Morcha) on March 3, to come to the meeting.
He said that on Sunday, there will be a meeting of farmer organizations in Kisan Bhawan in which Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s chair will also be set up. Farmer organizations claim that the Chief Minister should discuss our demands and prove that these demands are related to the Center, not the state.
Farmer organizations are angry with CM Mann
The call to march to Chandigarh on March 5 was suppressed by the government, due to which the farmer organizations are angry with the Chief Minister. They allege that the Chief Minister is misrepresenting by saying that the demands of the farmers are related to the Central Government, not Punjab.
BKU Lakhowal chief Harinder Singh Lakhowal said that the Chief Minister has an invitation to attend this meeting, he should come and discuss the demands with us and prove that any demand is related to the Center.
He told that tomorrow, while chairs will be arranged for the farmers’ organizations, a separate chair will also be arranged for the Chief Minister and he has been asked to come and clarify his position.
The CM had left the farmers’ meeting
The interesting thing is that on March 3, the Chief Minister had a meeting with the farmers regarding their 18 demands, but after discussing eight-nine demands for two hours, the Chief Minister had said that he had to go to the doctor to get his eye treated.
He had also appealed to the farmers to cancel the program of marching to Chandigarh on March 5 because repeatedly staging dharnas is not in the interest of Punjab. The farmers’ organizations took offense to the Chief Minister leaving the meeting like this.
These organizations had again scheduled a meeting in Chandigarh Kisan Bhawan on March 15 regarding their demands, which was cancelled due to some reason. Now this meeting will be held in Chandigarh on Sunday itself. Lakhowal appealed to all the farmers’ organizations to reach on time.
