A high alert has been issued across Punjab following the rail track blast in Patiala. Security arrangements have been significantly tightened throughout the state in the wake of the explosion that occurred on the railway tracks in Patiala late last night. This incident has placed both the railway administration and security agencies on high alert. In particular, checking drives have been intensified at railway stations in major cities to prevent any untoward incidents. Joint Checking Operation by GRP, RPF, and Local Police
At Amritsar Railway Station, the GRP (Government Railway Police), RPF (Railway Protection Force), and local police are conducting a joint, specialized checking operation. Every passenger entering the station is being frisked, and their luggage is undergoing thorough scrutiny. Additionally, security teams are maintaining a vigilant watch over the trains. Police presence has been bolstered on every platform, thereby instilling a greater sense of security among passengers. Identification of the Youth Killed in the Blast
According to sources, the name of a youth identified as Jagroop Singh has surfaced in connection with this blast; he is reported to hail from the village of Panjwar in the Tarn Taran district. Although the police have not yet officially confirmed this, they are treating the matter with utmost seriousness and are investigating it from various angles. Security agencies are also probing whether a larger network or conspiracy lies behind this incident. Police Appeal to the Public to Remain Vigilant
DSP (Railways) Arvinder Singh told the media that while routine checking is a regular practice, it becomes imperative to exercise heightened caution following an incident of this nature. He stated that multiple teams from the GRP and RPF are continuously conducting checks at stations and on trains. Furthermore, anti-sabotage teams have been deployed to monitor any suspicious activity.
The police have also appealed to the general public to remain vigilant. Passengers have been urged to immediately alert the Railway Police or the nearest railway staff member if they spot any suspicious individuals or unattended objects. The police state that such incidents can be prevented, and the journey made completely safe, only with the cooperation of the public.
