Reports have emerged that a Home Guard jawan stationed at the Harike Headworks checkpoint was injured with sharp-edged weapons, and his service rifle was stolen. According to reports, Home Guard jawan Sukhwinder Singh (52) was on duty during the night when unidentified assailants suddenly attacked him, inflicting severe injuries before snatching his rifle and fleeing the scene.
Despite his injured condition, Sukhwinder Singh managed to run to the barracks, where he woke up his sleeping colleagues and apprised them of the incident. Subsequently, the critically injured Sukhwinder Singh was admitted to a local hospital for treatment; however, given the severity of his condition, doctors referred him to the Faridkot Medical College. After inspecting the crime scene, the police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
