Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann flagged off a batch of 72 teachers for training in Finland. The initiative aims to improve the quality of education in the state and provide global level education to the students. These teachers, who are undergoing training in Turku, Finland, will work as messengers of the education revolution and will share their experiences with other teachers of the state.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday flagged off a batch of 72 teachers along with Education Minister Harjot Bains for training in Finland. He said that the principals and teachers trained abroad are working as messengers of the education revolution in the state to benefit the common man by improving the level of education.
While interacting with the teachers before flagging them off at his official residence in Chandigarh, the Chief Minister said that due to the joint efforts of AAP and its national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, the issues of education, health and electricity have become central to the political agendas of other parties.
Teachers have gone to Turku, Finland
Mann said that it is a matter of great pride that Punjab has so far sent 234 principals, education officers to Singapore for a five-day leadership development program and 72 primary level teachers to Turku, Finland.
Earlier, the seventh batch of teachers was sent to Singapore
Earlier on March 8, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had sent the seventh batch of 36 principals to Singapore. On this occasion, in the presence of Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, the Chief Minister said that this day is a golden chapter in the history of the state, as this initiative will help in providing quality education to the students. Better trained staff has played an important role in increasing the rate of admission in government schools.
Most of those going abroad are women
The Chief Minister had hoped that the students would get the benefit of new education techniques from the trained principals, so that they can compete with the students of convent schools. He had said that Punjab is witnessing an education revolution in the country, as the state government is giving priority to this sector. On the occasion of International Women’s Day, it was a special pleasure to know that most of the principals going abroad in this batch are women.
International level training to hundreds of teachers
Punjab became the first state to provide international level training to more than 300 teachers. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government has set a new standard by providing world-class training abroad to 306 principals and teachers with the aim of providing quality education to the students of government schools.
