Haryana’s 27.5 lakh vehicles got a shock, diesel and petrol will not be available from this month; people lost their sleep

Date:

In the 14 districts of Haryana falling in the National Capital Region (NCR), there are 27 lakh 50 thousand vehicles which have completed their period of operation. About 70 percent of the vehicles in Gurugram, Faridabad and Sonipat are out of use. In the remaining 11 districts of Haryana falling in NCR, 30 percent of the vehicles are such which have become old, but the vehicle owners are still operating them.

Such vehicles are not only being operated in various districts of NCR, but are also being driven to the national capital Delhi. In the view of the Central Air Quality Management Commission, these vehicles are becoming a major cause of air pollution in NCR. The Air Quality Management Commission has ordered the state government not to provide fuel to these vehicles from November 1.

Request to reduce the scope of NCR

Out of 22 districts of Haryana, 14 districts are included in NCR. The Haryana government has raised the issue before the central government several times to reduce the scope of NCR, but the state’s proposal has not been accepted yet.

14 districts of Haryana have got more loss and less benefit of being in NCR. Whenever any order is implemented for NCR, it also affects the people of those districts of Haryana, which are actually far away from the periphery of NCR.

The Haryana government believes that Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat, Rewari, Palwal, Jhajjar and Nuh are fine to be included in the NCR, but Panipat, Karnal, Jind, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri and Mahendragarh-Narnaul districts have more loss by being included in NCR.

The area of Haryana coming in NCR is 25 thousand KM

The Haryana government has sent a proposal to the Central Government in July 2022 to exclude Karnal, Jind, Mahendragarh-Narnaul, Charkhi Dadri, Bhiwani and Meham of Rohtak district and Matlauda and Panipat tehsils of Panipat district from the NCR.

If this proposal gets the approval of the NCR Planning Board, then the scope of NCR in Haryana will be reduced by 1148 square kilometers. Till now the area of Haryana which comes under NCR is 25 thousand 327 square kilometers.

The districts which the Haryana government is demanding to be taken out of the scope of NCR were included in NCR in the year 2018, but the restrictions and strict rules of NCR have forced the government to request the Center to reduce the number of NCR districts.

How many years can you drive a car

All the decisions issued by the National Green Authority, NCR Planning Board, Delhi Government and Central Air Quality Commission for NCR, those districts of Haryana also come under the grip of compliance, which are not directly related to these decisions.

The Central Air Quality Management Commission has recently issued an order fixing a time limit of 10 years for diesel vehicles and 15 years for petrol vehicles in Delhi NCR. The use of vehicles above this age has been stopped, so that there can be relief from pollution.

Uttar Pradesh has less polluting vehicles than Delhi

A total of 61 lakh 14 thousand 728 lakh vehicles have completed their life in the national capital Delhi, while in Haryana 27 lakh 50 thousand 152 vehicles have crossed the time period. The number of such out of date vehicles in the districts of NCR of Uttar Pradesh is 12 lakh 69 thousand 598.

The Central Air Quality Management Commission said that such vehicles should not be given fuel. It has been directed to install ANPR cameras at petrol pumps in Delhi. Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras automatically recognize and read the number plates of the vehicle.

Petrol pumps in Gurugram, Faridabad and Sonipat districts have been asked to install cameras by October 2025. In such a situation, fuel will not be given to vehicles in these districts from November 1. The Chief Secretary has been directed to comply with these orders.
