Temperatures in several districts of Punjab have soared past the 40-degree mark, and it feels as though fire is raining down from the sky. Stepping outdoors during the afternoon has become extremely difficult due to the scorching sun. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave alert. The impact of the heatwave is expected to be particularly severe in various areas across the Punjab districts of Mohali, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib, and Sangrur.
Furthermore, there is no forecast for rain in Punjab over the next five days, and the weather is expected to remain dry. During this period, residents will have to contend with intense heat and heatwave conditions. Bathinda and Faridkot rank among the hottest cities in Punjab, where the maximum temperature has been recorded at 41.6 degrees Celsius. According to the latest updates from the Meteorological Department, there appears to be no immediate relief from the heat in sight for the coming days.
